One of the most important things you can consider when choosing a podcast, radio or TV news show to listen to is your relationship to the show. In normal relationships with a show you, the listener, are the product of the show. The show is typically designed to attract certain listeners who become the product and that product (you!) is then sold to advertisers. Once you understand this mechanism you realize that the sole purpose is not to provide you with any real news or analysis, but just to keep you interested enough to package you and the audience and then sell it to an advertiser.
This is why the No Agenda model is different. The product is not you, it’s the news analysis. You are never packaged and sold as if you were an item at the pig auction: fattened up with bad information. This is why we ask for your support. This model is the only one you can trust for unfettered reporting, deconstruction and news analysis.
Big broadcasters who make you the product, knuckle under to advertising pressure so easily because revealing uncensored information might taint the product (you). If the media did not censor certain news stories, you would think differently about the advertiser. If you are the product and you are tainted like this, you cannot be sold for top dollar to the advertiser.
So censoring stories and slanting the news is part of the product processing.
It’s actually a disgusting model and exploitative. And like farm animals many people think it is normal to live like this as they are essentially sent off for slaughter. The only difference is that you are sent off over and over and over.
